Songpa-gu Samjeon-dong Resource Circulation 'Green Caster' is an environmental protection group led by youth, and is a club that strives to solve various environmental problems in the village . The youth practiced resource circulation through making vegetarian lunch boxes, reducing food waste, plogging, eco-friendly leader training, and Su-ri Su-ri flea market activities . They communicated with residents at the village festival and carried out volunteer work for climate crisis vulnerable groups , and cooperated with the local community through intergenerational joint activities. Next year, they plan to induce more participation through expanded activities and promotion to create a climate crisis vulnerable group care village.

Young people's passion for protecting the environment through webtoons, sketches, proposals, and sculptures

On November 30, the Green Caster '2024 Resource Recycling Village Contest' award ceremony was held at the Samjeon Social Welfare Center. The first part of the award ceremony was a video of Green Caster activities of directly separating and disposing waste properly. Next, creative works expressing resource recycling activities in various ways such as webtoons, drawings, and proposals were presented.

The student who won the grand prize said, "I symbolically expressed climate change and the extinction crisis through the sculpture 'Polar Bear Sacrifice'. Environmental issues are everyone's problem. If given the opportunity, I would like to use my talents to volunteer for resource recycling activities." The medal produced with the award was made of recycled plastic, and the goods prepared as prizes were also made with resource recycling ideas.
