Angela Paik was born in California, USA, and then moved to Korea, where I am currently attending high school at Seoul Scholars International. I've enjoyed sketching since I was a child, but as I grew older, I understood that art might be more than simply a hobby. Inspired by authors like Han Kang, who highlight human vulnerability and strength, I hope to portray the complexities I find in the world through visual forms. In my work, I frequently delve into the intricacies of human behavior and social problems, touching on topics like self-identity, perseverance, and the subtle equilibrium of being both strong and vulnerable. Through my artwork, I encourage audiences to face their own thoughts about society, generating a visual encounter that inspires feelings and self-analysis. Despite their gentle or understated appearance, my pieces hold significance, reflecting my observations and personal truths. I hope that my work will inspire reflection, stimulate dialogue, or connect with unexpressed emotions in others. Art is more than just a personal pursuit for me; it is also a continuous conversation, silently but effectively sharing and questioning viewpoints in a world that occasionally requires reflection and pause.
